Description
Trailhead for the ‘upper’ portion of RLT 3 is just north of the intersection on the east side of 1st Line and best to cross a small bridge over the ditch and then head along the farm field following the orange blazes. Continue through the woods and you will come to a steep downhill into the ‘valley’. Once down the hill, the trail will turn right and soon crosses the Cove Valley Bridge. A plaque embedded in the handrail shows it was dedicated June 2013 by GHTC. Trail then works its way out of the valley and veers slightly right (note trail crosses a couple logging trails that are private, so follow orange blazes). Trail will come out onto the 2nd Line, continues left (north) on the road and crosses a bridge over a tributary of Blue Springs Creek.

The trailhead for section 4 will be a short distance north of that bridge on the right/east side of road. Continue to follow the orange blazes through cedar and hardwood forest. As you go east the trail will become more rocky so be careful of footing. The hardwoods will transition into cedar bush and trail will go right. Continue along following orange blazes and eventually will arrive at Guelph Line.

Have a pause and head back.
