Bridges not only keep hikers dry, they serve to protect the underlying streams and wetland ecology they cross. Starkey's bridges were largely funded and built by Toyota Canada, with support provided by the Grand River Conservation Authority and the Guelph Hiking Trail Club. Starkey's trails are the product of a joint effort of GRCA and GHTC, with the latter being largely responsible for on-going maintenance. The QR posts and signage along the way are the work of GHTC with help from Student Volunteer Connections, University of Guelph.
