GHTC is a member of the Guelph Trail Users Coalition (GTUC). This group of passionate trail users is dedicated to improving the trail users experience in Guelph. By working with the city through advocacy and action the group strives for focused trail improvements for the benefit of all Guelph residents.

Hike Ontario is a voluntary organization composed of, and representing over 20 hiking trail and activity groups in Ontario. It provides a central co-ordinating body for these groups, including the provision of an insurance programme which member groups can avail themselves for public liability. Hike Ontario also conducts courses for beginner and advanced hiking and the training of hike leaders. It provides programming for young hikers and those experiencing mental challenges (mood walks). It also is a central source for lobbying various levels of government on behalf of all walking trail groups in the province.
