Trail Closures and Cautions

Some GHTC trails are closed at landowner's request for hunting in the fall months. 

The central section of the Speed River trail (Sideroad 10 to Rd 124) is closed to hiking as marked by red Trail Closed signs from Sept. 1, 2021 to Jan. 20, 2022. It is also closed for public hunting. It is open for hunting only to members of the Vimy Ridge Hunt Club.

Radial Line Trail Section 3, 1st Line to 2nd Line Nassagaweya  is closed from  Mon. Nov. 1 - Sat Nov 6, 2021 to Sat. Nov. 6, 2021 at request of landowner for Ministry of Natural Resources shotgun hunting season.

Radial Line Trail Section 4 is closed Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2021 for Ministry of Natural Resources bow and arrow hunting season at request of landowner.

Please respect landowners wishes.

This year’s local shotgun seasons for deer are Mon. Nov. 1 -  Sat. Nov. 6, 2021 , and Mon. Nov. 29 – Sat. Dec. 4. We recommend you avoid hiking in the woods for these 12 days and otherwise to wear bright colours during the fall months.

Local bow and arrow season for deer runs from Oct 1 - Dec 31, 2021.

City of Guelph Maintenance RLT Stone Rd to Cook's Mill

Trail has been rerouted and blazed. See "Reroutes" page for details.

The City of Guelph has been performing tree clearing and construction maintenance on City owned property adjacent to GHTC RLT trail from Stone Road to Cook's Mill Road from Oct 2020 and will continue into 2022.

Please obey signs and closures.
