Trail Closures and Cautions

Some GHTC trails are closed at landowner's request for hunting.  Hunting season is during the fall months.  Watch this space in August, when we will post specific dates and closures for the 2021 hunting season.

The central section of the Speed River trail (Sideroad 10 to Rd 124) is closed to hiking as marked by red Trail Closed signs from Sept 1 to Jan. 20. It is also closed for public hunting. It is open for hunting only to members of the Vimy Ridge Hunt Club.

This year’s local shotgun seasons for deer are Monday Nov. 8 -  Sat. Nov. 13 , and Mon. Dec. 6 – Sat. Dec. 11. We recommend you avoid hiking in the woods for these 12 days and otherwise to wear bright colours during the fall months.
