Trail Closures and Cautions
Some GHTC trails are closed at landowner's request for hunting in the fall months.
The Section 2 of the Speed River trail (Puslinch Sideroad 10 to Rd 124) is closed to hiking as marked by red Trail Closed signs from Sept. 1, 2026 to Jan. 20, 2027. It is also closed for public hunting. It is open for hunting only to members of the Vimy Ridge Hunt Club.
RLT Section 3 between 1st & 2nd Line Nassagaweya will be closed for Deer Shotgun Hunting Season TBA, 2026
at the landowner’s request.
Radial Line Trail Section 4 is closed at landowner's request from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31. Hikers are encouraged to follow the "Fall Reroute" along 30 Sideroad.
This year’s local shotgun seasons for deer are Mon Nov. 2 - Sun Nov 8 (Halton and South Wellington County) and Mon Nov 30 – Sun Dec 6 (South Wellington County) for shotguns and muzzle loading guns. We recommended you avoid hiking in the woods for those dates and otherwise wear bright colours during the fall months. Other townships may have different dates. For more info Ontario hunting website.
Local bow and arrow season for deer typically runs from Oct 1 - Dec 31.
