Clear the Cobwebs - New Year's Day Hike

Join us for GHTC's annual Clear the Cobwebs hike!  Let's all share an active start to our new year!

This hike is level 2, moderate, with some up-hill transitions.  Proper footwear with ice spikes is recommended.

We will gather at the covered bridge for 1:30 PM and make our way to the Cutten trail, ascending Arboretum Side Trail and up through the Arboretum.  From there, we'll hike through U of Guelph campus, making our way down Gordon Street back to covered bridge.

Hike distance is approximately 6.5 km in length.  Hikers can choose their own pace, ranging from 2.5 to 4 km/hr.  We will have different hike leaders setting paces from the beginning so you can choose which to follow.

Those who wish to hike lesser distance (~3 km) will be able to turn around at the Arboretum Side Trail staircase.

Wear proper attire.  Hike is rain or shine.  Be sure to account for cold temperatures and possible icy terrain at times.  Ice spikes for your hiking footwear is strongly recommended.
