Effective July1st, Radial Line Section #2 “Water Services property” is open to Guelph Hiking Trail Club members.
GHTC signs new Licence Agreement with “Water Services Infrastructure,Development and Enterprise City of Guelph”.
Gorba has also signed a new agreement and there may be some shared trail use in limited areas. See full article in the GHTC July newsletter.
The Water Services department’s thrust is to emphasize the distinction between “operational and non operational lands” and eliminate desire lines and hikers/bikers from the operational area. The Water Services Dept. will also be installing new signage and infrastructure at access points to discourage the general public from accessing the trails unless they are members of a group that has a licence agreement with the Water Services Dept .
Our trail is already on the “non operational “ lands so no rerouting is required and you wont have to carry proof of membership to hike the trail. However the Dept will continue to discourage hikers making excursions outside of our agreed trails
