Joint GHTC and GVTA 50th celebration Forks of the Credit Loop hike

This will be a joint GHTC/GVTA hike: 11 Km with the GHTC, or 18 Km with the GVTA - your choice. Both clubs are celebrating their 50th Anniversary!

GVTA Hike: To register for the 18 Km GVTA hike go to https://www.gvta.on.ca/HikesEvents.htm and click on the Forks of the Credit hike. Fill out the registration form at the link on the GVTA website.

GHTC Hike: Register for the 11 Km GHTC hike from this page. You must register to attend! Difficulty level: 2. Pace: moderate.
Wear long pants and closed toe hiking boots. Bring 2L water and lunch, bug spray, sunblock and a hat.

Trailhead: Be at the trailhead by 8:55 AM. The pay parking lot of the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park at 43.824961765405114, -80.00395958338855

Directions From Guelph to Trailhead: Head NE on Eramosa which becomes Hwy. 124. Follow 124 through Erin. Shortly after 124 changes to 24 look for McLaren Rd. on your right and turn there. The pay parking lot is on your right on McLaren Rd. https://goo.gl/maps/fwQf2Pqn79zPy6LP8

Parking: Fee $15.50/day/vehicle for parking in the Provincial Park. Reserve ahead to be sure that you get a spot. Reserve here https://reservations.ontarioparks.com/ a maximum of 5 days prior to the day of the hike. Reserve for the whole day as the 4 hour time slots don't align with the time we will be hiking.

Carpool: Save some money, be at the carpool location by 8:35 AM for a ride to the trailhead. Look for the sign that reads Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, on Hwy 24, on the right, 200m before McLaren Rd. This is a FREE parking lot and NOT the pay lot inside the park. Please bring a couple dollars to help reimburse leader for parking in the pay parking lot at the trailhead. Registration: All hikers must register! Registration for the GHTC hike will close at noon June 17th. When you register please indicate if you will be meeting the other hikers at the trailhead or at the carpool location. If carpooling please indicate if you can provide a ride to the trailhead from the carpool location.
