Our Saturday morning hike explores the gentle trails of Aboyne on the Grand River between Elora and Fergus.
We will meet at the Covered Bridge Parking Lot in Guelph, and arrange any car-pooling required. We will then drive to the Beatty Line Parking Lot in Fergus: . We will join a stretch of the Elora-Cataract Rail Path and walk towards Aboyne. We will take a look at the Trestle Bridge before leaving the Rail Path and dropping down to the trails of Aboyne along the Grand River. On our return, we will look at the Memorial in the cemetery for the dead of the Wellington House of Industry and then look at the House of Industry itself - it is now the Wellington County Archives and Museum. We will make our way back to Beatty Line Parking Lot via a different trail.
Please wear footwear for hiking and bring water and snacks for the trail.
