On Saturday 19 August, hikers will take an easy 7 km walk (there and back) on flat country terrain which will take us past the pleasant ponds of Marden Park and on to a section of the Guelph-Elora railway remains, a relatively unmaintained but highly passable trace of the railway bed which once carried the rails between the two towns one hundred years ago.

Best to keep eye on weather; drainage on Guelph-Elora rail path can be wet and muddy in one or two places after heavy rain, so waterproof shoes or shoes you don't mind getting wet are an advantage.  Bug spray a good idea.  Water, snacks also good plans for our two-hour hike..

For hikers who would like to join car pool, hike leader Peter Goddard will be at the Guelph Covered Bridge Parking lot at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday a.m. to carry hikers for short trip up to Marden Park.  Please let Peter know if you would like a ride.
