Grindstone Creek: hike to Smokey Hollow Falls and exploration of Grindstone Creek Marsh via RBG boardwalks

Hikers will meet at the Covered Bridge Parking lot on Gordon Street in Guelph, or if travelling from other points will meet at the lower Hidden Valley Park at 1137 Hidden Valley Rd, Burlington ON L7P 0T5.  Carpooling encouraged.  

We will proceed to Burlington Parks Hidden Valley Park on the S side of Lemonville Road Burlington.  Here we will park and set out on the first leg of the hike:  up Hidden Valley Road to start of the Grindstone Creek Trail which connects to the Bruce Trail on way up the Escarpment to Smokey Hollows Falls. This is a moderate hike but sturdy shoes important and hiking poles an advantage here.

After our visit to the Falls we will descend the lively Grindstone Creek and its Canyon to  Hidden Valley Park and have lunch at the picnic tables of the lower Hidden Valley Park (washrooms available).  After lunch, hikers will walk along Grindstone Creek to the Grindstone Marsh and hike its boardwalks (easy level) to view to the restoration projects, the birds, and the Fall colours.
