Speed River Loop

Wednesday, November 1, 2023  Speed River Loop  - Level 2 Moderate pace - 7 kms, 2 hours.  Depart 9:30 am.  Meet at the small parking area just outside the gates to the old Humane Society.  To reach the parking area, turn into the first entrance west of the Hanlon Parkway (Hwy 6) on the south side of Wellington Road.  This is a great hike surprisingly close to an urban centre with the Speed River, waterfowl and trees combining to connect us with nature.  We will walk to Niska bridge and return via the John Wood Sidetrails 1 and 2, watching out for occasional ruts, holes and exposed roots.  It may be wet due to recent rain.
