Spencer Gorge

Sunday, March 31 - Spencer Gorge: The "Doin' It Right !" Hike - This will be a modified re-do, or a "Take Two" of the spectacular but flawed Spencer Gorge hike of March 17. It will consist of three up-and-back hikes, back to back: a) a hike up the escarpment to "The Peak", an overlook over the Dundas valley; b) a hike up the gorge into the base of Tews Falls, (on a far easier trail than the one taken on the 17th) and c) a hike up the gorge to the base of Webster's Falls along the former route of the Bruce Trail.

There will likely be some slippery mud, a few walks along the edge of steep drops, and some big tree trunks to climb over. Bring lunch / snacks.

Level 2+. Pace moderate, with time for photo opps. Distance 14km

Meet at the covered bridge lot on Gordon St., Guelph at 9 AM. for the carpool. Max. of 15 hikers, registration required.

If anyone wants to drive themselves to Dundas, they should contact leader for the trailhead / parking location.

Leader, Bill Mungall mungallbill@gmail.com

For those unable to make this hike, we will post instructions on our website as to how this hike can be done on your own.
