Radial Line, Section 1 and Royal Recreation Trail
Check in at 6:15 for hike start at 6:30pm – meet by the Guelph covered bridge
Hike description: Starting from the covered bridge, we will walk towards James Street and follow the Radial Line Trail then go up the stairs. Then follow that trail to Victoria Rd., walk along the sidewalk for a short distance then join the Royal Recreation Trail which will take us back to the covered bridge. The Boathouse should be open for ice cream when we get back.
Trail conditions: The trails go through a forest and the trail is uneven with rocks and roots. There is a set of stairs that we will go up.
Pace: 4km/hr, approximately 4.8km, 1 ¼ hr
Parking: parking lot by the covered bridge (Guelph) – 114 Gordon Street, Guelph
NOTE: there is construction in downtown Guelph, and left hand turns are not allowed at the lights at Gordon and Wellington
Required: hiking shoes, dress for the weather
Recommended: water, snack, sunscreen, bug spray
Optional: poles
No dogs please.
