Hike Description Meet the leader at 9:45 A.M. at the trailhead for a 10:00 A.M. start. Please try to carpool with at least one other person to this hike.
Trail head is at the west end of Powerline Rd., south of Paris, east side of the Grand River. Park in the large, free parking lot at the trailhead. (Click text for map).
From the trailhead we will hike south mainly on GVTA trails along the Grand River, to make a 12.5 KM loop back to the trail head. From the pedestrian bridge on the SC Johnson Trail which connects Paris with Brantford, we may spot a Heron or two. Scenic river views while walking a quiet winding trail through Carolinian forests. Some steep hills and difficult footing as well as wide trails and road walking. Lunch on the trail.
Length: 12.5 km. Pace: 3.5 km/hour. Terrain: Moderate. Hiking time: ~ 3.5 hours.
This is a combined GHTC / GVTA hike. I'm leading for both clubs concurrently. Registration is limited to 24 in total.

What to Bring At least 1.5 L of water, snacks, lunch, personal first aid kit, health card, toque and gloves, rain gear, sun screen. Dress in layers for the weather. Hiking poles optional but could be useful. Hiking boots required. No dogs please.
