Hike Description:
This is Tanya’s first time leading as a hike leader. Come out with your bunny ears to share in a leisurely walk to enjoy nature waking up after the long peaceful winter. The mostly flat trail circles Island Lake and includes scenic vistas, lake spanning bridges and may provide opportunities for viewing wildlife. The trail surface is crushed stone, soil and decking. Snow or ice may be a factor depending on the weather. Due to part of the trail being closed, we will hike 5km into the area then head back the same way.
What to bring: water, snacks, hot drink (optional if the weather is cold), personal first aid kit, Health Card. Icers/crampons/cleats required for winter hikes - we do not think we will need the ices due to the warmer temperatures however, we will let you know the day before the hike.
Dress for the weather.
No dogs please.
