Hike name: Wandering The Grand
Time: 9:00 AM – approximately 11:00 AM
Distance: 9k (out & back) approx. 2hrs
Hike Rating: Level 2 with some rocks, tree roots, muddy sections and uneven terrain with some steep hills
Hike description: This hike will follow the Grand Valley Trail from 6281 8th Line West (https://what3words.com/gunk.sarcastic.dolly) to the boundary of Elora Gorge Conservation Area. It includes a mixture of scenic terrain with wonderful views of the Grand River.
Starting from the Grand Valley Trail Head on 8th Line West we will follow the banks of the Grand river over grassy flood plains and through pine and mixed deciduous forests. Coming back we will follow a more inland route passing by some farmers fields and through white pine groves.
Required: hiking shoes, dress for the weather, I.D.
Recommended: water, hiking poles, small first aid kit
No dogs please.
Please meet at the covered bridge downtown at 8:15 for an 8:30 shuttle to the trailhead. Departure from the trailhead will be at 9:00 am.
