DAWN HIKE II
When: Saturday, 15 August, 6:15 am for a 6:30 am departure.
Where: Meet in Crane Park parking lot, situated at sharp bend in road where Stone Rd W. turns into College Ave W.
What: There were enough early bird hikers on the first Dawn Hike to warrant a repeat, so greet the day, beat the heat and the bugs with another early morning hike in Crane Park. This lovely stretch of wilderness borders the Speed River and leads through dense forests, open fields and over streams, crossing at one point the Crane Park Community Bridge installed by GHTC as its 50th anniversary legacy project. Terrain is mainly level, a mix of dirt trails, boardwalks and pine-needle strewn forest floor.
Distance & Pace: About 5-6 km, pace moderate. Bring water, health card, bug spray. Poles your choice.
Hike will happen even if there is only one registrant willing to get up this early. Always check this site before departure in event of weather cancellation.
